Wine label Helltown Porter chosen

Provincetown, MA: Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) and Perry's Fine Wines and Liquors are thrilled to announce the winner of the Cuvée Helltown label design contest. Terry Porter, a PAAM member from Norwalk, CT, submitted the judges' winning design.

“We were blown away by the response and the quality of the works that were submitted for the project. In the end we came to a shortlist of three, and the winning piece just bowled us over in terms of its stunning technical quality, but also for its fun, cheeky nature and how it brought the idea of Helltown to life. We are certain this is going to be a piece that people will fall in love with over the Summer of 2020," writes Charlie Greener, co-owner of Perry's.

Porter's piece was selected by the following panel: Christine McCarthy, PAAM CEO; Vicky Tomayko, Artist; Bert Yarborough, Artist; Charlie Greener and Billy Marshall, Owners of Perry’s. She will receive a prize of $1,000, and Perry's will donate $1 of every sale of the bottle back to PAAM.

PAAM CEO Christine McCarthy writes "PAAM has been at the intersection of collaborations between artists and businesses since its founding in 1914; these kinds of relationships are one of the biggest reasons that Provincetown is the oldest continuous artist colony in the country. We're grateful to Charlie and Billy of Perry's for supporting PAAM in such a creative way, to Vicky and Bert for volunteering their time and expertise, and to all of the artists to submitted to this contest. And congratulations to Terry!"

Provincetown Art Association and Museum was established in 1914 by a group of artists and townspeople to build a permanent collection of works by artists of outer Cape Cod, and to exhibit art that would allow for unification within the community. Through a comprehensive schedule of exhibitions of local and national significance and educational outreach, PAAM provides the public access to art, artists, and the creative process. The PAAM Membership is a vibrant community of over 1,800 individuals. Whether you’re an artist or you simply love the arts, a PAAM Membership opens the door to programs and events that enrich and inspire.

Located at 460 Commercial Street, PAAM is open October–May, 12 to 5pm, Thursday–Sunday; and daily at 11am, June-September. General admission, $12. Free to members and children 12 and under. For more information, please call 508.487.1750 or visit
